Partenariats, international : IMO seminar, Le Havre welcomes 18 participants for training in port operations and management

From 9 September to 11 October 2024, The Institut Portuaire d'Enseignement et de Recherche (IPER) of EM Normandie and HAROPA PORT welcome port professionals from all over the world as part of the 38th edition of the training programme organised under the aegis of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

Training session to help developing countries boost efficiency in port management and operations

This new session welcomes senior executives from Angola, Cameroon, Comoros, Djibouti, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Senegal, Somalia, Mongolia, Mauritius, Namibia, Philippines, Togo and Suriname.

A month of intensive training between theory and fieldwork

The courses are given by HAROPA PORT managers and engineers, professionals from the Le Havre port area, specialists in the maritime field and members of the university teaching staff. They cover a range of topics :

  • port organisation and its challenges;
  • the port economy;
  • the master plan;
  • ship handling and port of call management;
  • technologies and information systems used in ports;
  • port development and maintenance;
  • management of the public domain;
  • port dues;
  • port marketing and sales;
  • the port environment;
  • and finally, a course on the challenges of port safety and security.

Visits of port facilities are also organised to enable professionals to put their newly acquired knowledge into perspective with the reality on the ground.
