In 2024, an order for 26 hybrid straddle carriers was ordered by GMP, which has just taken delivery of a first series of 13 units. Delivered to the Terminal de l’Europe in Le Havre on Sunday 6 April by Kalmar, these vehicles are contributing to the company's low-carbon strategy, while improving the flow and safety of goods through its terminals.

Equipped with a 100% hybrid engine, these straddle carriers reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, while improving driver safety and comfort. Their redesigned cabs and reduced noise levels contribute to optimised working conditions.

This €45 million investment, which follows the delivery of 12 units in 2023, is part of GMP's overall green transition strategy. Eventually, at a total cost of €65 million, the company will have a fleet of 2/3-motor vehicles powered by 100% hybrids, boosting both its productivity and its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.
