cruise : Maritime cruises back on track

After a flourishing year in 2023, sea cruise is continuing its dynamic growth! HAROPA PORT and its partners are pulling out all the stops to welcome a record number of calls in 2024: more than 220 are expected.

The Le Havre Croisières GIP is waiting for 162 stopovers

In 2024, 46 cruise ships will visit the port of Le Havre, for a total of 162 calls, including 29 double and one triple.

4 inaugural calls arescheduled:

  • the Viking Saturn from Viking Saturn cruise company on April 12,
  • the Coral Princess operated by Princess Cruises on June 26,
  • the Mein Schiff 7, the latest in a class of seven liners from TUI Cruises on October 5,
  • and the Norwegian Encore from Norwegian Cruise Line on November 16.

There are also 53 headliners with Le Havre as departure port, including 28 with MSC Cruises. Compagnie Française de Croisières is offering 18 and Norwegian Cruise Line 3. Princess Cruises, Cunard and Rivages du Monde (Quark) will be offering a headliner cruise.

Save the date: Queen Mary 2, the largest cruise ship of the season, will return to Le Havre on June 1 and on October 18. 

48 stopovers in Honfleur and 11 cruise ships in Rouen

In Honfleur, 48 stopovers are scheduled in collaboration with the Honfleur tourist office, including 9 inaugural ones:

  • Viking Sky, Viking Neptune and Viking Mars from the Norwegian operator Vinking Ocean Cruises, on May 3,6 and 20 respectively,
  • the World Navigator by Mystic Cruises on May 14 mai,
  • the SH Vega, an ice-class ship from the Swan Hellenic company on May 23,
  • the Seven Seas Mariner on July 6, then the Seven Seas Splendor on August 10 from the Regent fleet,
  • Azamara Onward from the Royal Caribbean group will be hosted by Honfleur on September 7,
  • finally, Hapag Lloyd's Hanseatic Spirit on October 13.

Dont’ missed out: the return of the Asuka II on May 16. This Japanese company hasn’t visited the Calvados seaside town since the 2011 season.

The recently modernized cruise terminal of Rouen will welcome 11 cruise ships in 2024, six of which will make their inaugural calls: the Silver Dawn from luxury line Silversea on May 11, the Star Pride on May 27, the Azamara Onward on September 4, the Crystal Symphony on September 22, the Hanseatic Nature on September 28 and the Sirena from Oceania Cruises on October 14.

The 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and and the 80th anniversary of the allieds D-Day landings along the Normandy coast will ponctuate the tourist season on the Seine axis!
