river, urban logistics and last-mile logistics : Parisian cafés now delivered by river

Since June, Sogestran Logistics has been making river deliveries into the heart of Paris to ensure beverage deliveries for the OBD Grand Paris trucks that supply Parisian cafés, hotels and restaurants. Carried out in partnership with HAROPA PORT and Voies navigables de France, this experiment will be extended with the signature of a 3-year agreement.

A reliable urban river logistics solution

Since June 19, Sogestran Logistics and the ODB Grand Paris group, the leading independent drinks distributor in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, have been conducting a logistics experiment.
Sogestran chartered its ZULU 03 self-propelled unit from the port of Gennevilliers to the Parisian ports of Debilly and Austerlitz to restock OBD trucks delivering beverages to Parisian cafés, hotels and restaurants.

Set up twice a week, this operation verified the technical feasibility of deliveries to Parisian quaysides.

Mixed use of Parisian ports

This test demonstrates the feasibility of using Parisian quays and shows that a mix of uses is possible: pedestrians, cyclists, passenger transport activities and logistics flows mix together.

Towards the signature of a 3-year agreement

The successful conclusion of this operation will shortly lead to the signature of a three-year agreement for the development of this river transport service in the ports. This is due to start on November 1, 2023.
