Next step in this major project : the electrification of the Pierre Callet quay, which will be operational from 2025. Work will then continue on the Roger Meunier and Joannès Couvert quays, to be finished by the end of 2025 and early 2026.
The existing « Hangar 13 » will be fitted out on a surface area of 1,200sq. ft to accommodate the high-voltage distribution equipment required for the specific needs of ships.
A network of buried cables will be laid to vehicles equipped with an articulated arm to bring 5 power outlets to the ships.
These initial works follow the extension of the public electricity distribution network already completed by Enedis.
Each plug (weighing 15 kg each) will be able to supply 13 MW for a maximum of 30 MW on the three platforms simultaneously.
This project will avoid the emission of 15,000 to 20,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year, but also improve air quality, reduce fossil fuel consumption and cut noise pollution.
Placed at the heart of HAROPA PORT's strategic project, this project represents an investment of 32 million euros, including 13.6 million euros from the France Relance plan and 900,000 euros from the Research fund for coal and steel (RFCS) of European Union.
