While work to lengthen the Petit-Couronne quay have been carried out by HAROPA PORT lengthen the quay to allow for an increase in traffic, the BZ Group accelerates its development with the construction of a second silo - operational in 2026.
Its represents an investment of €30 million for the group, and will be coupled with the first silo, launched in 2016.

The new complex will increase the operator's storage capacity from 75,000 to 130,000 tonnes. The complementary of the two units will enable to handle both large export and specific flows.

A vast development operation

Construction of the silo follows the delivery of a new gantry crane for the BZ group in early summer 2024. This new equipment optimises loading operations, with a capacity of up to 1,200 tonnes/hour. Equipped with an anti-dust head and grain accumulation system, it reduces dust emissions.

At the same time, in early 2025 HAROPA PORT will launch a new phase of works on the Petit-Couronne quay, with a 260-metre embankment to accommodate ships with a draught of 11.3 metres (compared with 10.6 metres today).
