development, maritime : Le Havre strengthens its maritime attractiveness with SEAFRIGO and Hanseatic Global Terminals

HAROPA PORT is delighted with the strategic alliance between SEAFRIGO, a key player in the port, and Hanseatic Global Terminals, which has become the majority shareholder in CNMP. This partnership will strengthen the presence of Hapag-Lloyd, the world's third largest shipping company, in Le Havre and confirm the competitiveness of the port, France's leading container port.

A partnership to accelerate the development of port infrastructures and operations

SEAFRIGO, a specialist in temperature-controlled logistics, has entered a new step with Hanseatic Global Terminals. Hanseatic Global Terminals has acquired a 60% stake in Compagnie Nouvelle de Manutention Portuaire (CNMP) from SEAFRIGO, thereby consolidating Hapag-Lloyd's strategic presence in Le Havre. CNMP will continue to operate the Terminal de l'Atlantique independently while providing handling services to an international customer base.
This partnership reflects the port's growing attractiveness to private investors. It also demonstrates the determination of SEAFRIGO and Hanseatic Global Terminals to develop the container industry in Le Havre.
These investments are fully in line with HAROPA PORT's wider strategy of developing the North terminals, with the aim of providing modern, accessible infrastructures.

A great dynamic for the sustainable development of the port

HAROPA PORT is supporting this drive by planning the electrification of the quays to enable container ships to be connected to the power supply during their calls (helping to reduce the environmental footprint of port operations).

More broadly, the modernisation of the Terminaux Nord is part of a wider land development project for this historic port area. In the coming years, the freeing-up of the EDF power station site and the conversion of the former coal site will open up new prospects for strengthening the port's maritime and logistics activities.
