multimodality, Port infrastructures, development : Foundation stone laid for future Bruyères-sur-Oise trimodal terminal

On Thursday July 18, a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the future Bruyères-sur-Oise trimodal terminal brought together all the players involved in the project. Beyond the symbolism, this is an important step in the development of the multimodal logistics corridor along the Seine axis.

Organized at the initiative of Philippe Lestrade, chairman of MSC France and managing Director of MEDLOG France, the laying of the foundation stone for the MEDLOG Inland Terminal Paris-Bruyères at the Bruyères-sur-Oise terminal marks two milestones:

  • the end of construction of the rail-served plateform by HAROPA PORT;
  • the start of works by MEDLOG.

MSC wants to connect this inland terminal to its maritime terminal in Le Havre, to multiply its container flows. The future platform will be dedicated to serving the Ile-de-France region, France's leading consumption area, as well as the national hinterland, thanks to the rail. It will perform several functions:

  • handling several types of goods and flows: containers, bulk (cereals, aggregates, etc.), swap bodies, heavy parcels, etc;
  • refurbishment to export standards of food-grade and refrigerated containers (with the possibility of maintaining the temperature of full refrigerated containers). These containers can then be reused, either for local export positioning by lorry, or to supply empty containers by train to a shortage export area;
  • container maintenance and repair.

Thanks to this new site, MEDLOG will promote multimodal transport and accelerate the decarbonization of the MSC Group's last-mile logistics. This objective is part of HAROPA PORT's green multimodal logistics corridor on the Seine axis.

Expected exploitation for early 2025.
