Balas manufactures the roofing elements in its Gennevilliers warehouses, before Sogestran Logistics takes charge of them and stores them in its warehouse in the port of Gennevilliers. When the roofers need the materials on site, around once a month, Sogestran Logistics' self-propelled barge Zulu 03 or Alpha 02 transport them to Notre-Dame-de-Paris. They offer numerous advantages for optimized urban logistics: they are highly maneuverable and are equipped with a crane, making them autonomous for loading/unloading operations.
On arrival at the site, the parts are placed on a “buffer storage” barge, offering flexible supply to site teams.
Made possible by the close collaboration between Balas and Sogestran Logistics, as well as the support of HAROPA PORT, Voies navigables de France and RNDP (Rebâtir Notre-Dame de Paris), this tailor-made service makes it possible to supply a highly constrained worksite, right in the heart of the capital, with no impact on traffic and in an eco-responsible way.
Yet another demonstration of the advantages of urban river delivery.
